Morciano Lara

Lara Morciano began studying piano at a early age and graduated with highest honors aged 16 at "T. Schipa" Conservatory of Lecce.
She carried out her concert activity, her piano advanced studies (undertaken
under the tutelage of Rodolfo Caporali, Aldo Ciccolini and Franco Scala), and at the same time she studied composition at the Conservatory of "Santa Cecilia" in Rome. She was first awarded a diploma in Choral Music and Choral Conducting, and then received a diploma in Composition in 1993 under the
guidance of Ada Gentile. In 1995 she was awarded a graduate degree in Composition under the guidance of Franco Donatoni at the "Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia". In 1995
she was chosen to represent the Conservatory of "Santa Cecilia" at the Kyoto International Student Music Festival '95, in Japan and in 1999 she was awarded a diploma in "Experimental School of Score Reading". Her compositions have been performed widely (Festival "MUSICA" - Strasbourg, 1999, 2001; BIENNALE MUSICA 2000 - Venice; FESTIVAL d'AVIGNON - Acanthes 2002; Festival "MUSICA ITALIA" '98 - Edinburgh; Festival "ASPECTS DES MUSIQUES D'AUYOURD'HUI" - Caen; Conservatoire National de Région de Strasbourg; Institut Culturel Italien - Strasbourg; "NUOVA CONSONANZA"; "NUOVI SPAZI MUSICALI"; "MUSICA D'OGGI"; "PROGETTO MUSICA" - Rome; Festival "AUJOURD'HUI MUSIQUE" - Perpignan; "SCRIVI E SUONA" - Cracow; LmcsL - Milan; Institut fur Kulturelle Infrastruktur Sachsen -Dresden; etc.). In 2001 she was selected from the Ensemble Intercontemporain and IRCAM for IRCAM composition and computer music course in Paris. In 2002 she obtained a diploma in composition "Mention Très bien" at the "Conservatoire National de Région de Strasbourg" in Ivan Fedele's classroom. The "Conservatoire National de Région de Strasbourg" and the "Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon" commissioned her a work for baroque instruments, with three dancers (on a Christine Bayle's choreography), which will be performed at Festival MUSICA Edition 2003 of Strasbourg. From December 2002 she is resident composer at the "Ecole National de musique de Montbéliard" to develop a new project for acoustic ensemble and electronics; this work was produced by ENM de Montpelier and "Centro Tempo Reale" of Florence. She taught at "Santa Cecilia" Conservatory in Rome and, as a competitive examination winner; since 1994 she teaches Score Reading at the Conservatory "Umberto Giordano" of Foggia. "Edizioni Suvini Zerboni" - Milano, publishes her compositions.
