Kishino Malika

Born in Kyoto (1971), Malika Kishino started composition after she obtained Bachelor of Laws at Doshisha University in 1994. 

She obtained Diplôma Supérieur for Composition in the class of Yoshihisa Taira at l´Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris (1998), Diplôme National d´Etudes Supérieures Musicales for composition in the class of Robert Pascal at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse (2003). She then participated the "Composition and Computer Music" program at IRCAM in 2004 and 2005 under the direction of Philippe Leroux.

Malika Kishino focus on two musical ways: the composition for pure instrumental music and the composition for mixed music (instrument and electronic). She has received the grants from some electroacoustic studios include: Groupe de Recherche Appliquée en Musique Electroacoustique (GRAME) in 2007-2008, Experimentalstudio für akustische Kans. e.V de Freiburg in 2007-2010, in Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Institute für Musik und Akustik (ZKM) in 2008, Groupe de Recherches Musicales (l´Ina GRM) in 2009.

Her Awards include: Third prize in the 70th Japan Music Competition in 2001, First Prize in the 6th concours of Groupe de Recherche Appliquée en Musique Electroacoustique (GRAME) and Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain in 2006, fellowship to Academy Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart / Germany) in 2008-2009, fellowship to Japan (for a project of sound installation with glass) from Landesregierung Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany) in 2010/2011.

Malika Kishino's music has been performed at international festivals including Présences, Festival de création Musicale of Radio France (2), 23th Multiphonies of l´Ina GRM, Musica in Strasbourg, Biennale Music en scéne in Lyon (4), Ultima Festival in Oslo, Alicante Festival, Ultraschall Festival in Berlin (2), Klangaktionen München (2), Festival Piano+ in ZKM Karlsruhe, Summer Festival in Stuttgart, Takefu International New Music Festival (Japan).

Her works have been performed by l´Orchestre National de Lyon, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Oslo Symphoniette, l´Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, Christopher Chamber Orchestra à Vilnius/Lithuanien, Ensemble Caput, Musik Fabrik, Ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble 2x2, Das Klarinetten Duo von Beate Zelinsky und David Smeyers, Daniel Kawka, Pascal Rophé, Fabrice Pierre, Christian Eggen, Wolfgang Lischke, Daniel Gloger, Carin Levine, Camilla Heutenga, Isao Nakamura, Makiko Goto etc.

In 2011, her first portrait Cd with Ensemble Ascolta will be produced in Deutschlandfunk, in 2012
other portrait Cd will be published from the serie of Edition Zeitgenössische Musik (WERGO) of German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat).
