Corrado Pasquale

After gaining diplomas in the Piano, Choral Music and Choir Conducting, he obtained a diploma in  Composition with honours at the Conservatorio "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan under the guidance of Alessandro Solbiati. In October 2008 he also gained a diploma in Orchestral Conducting under Daniele Agiman with whom he is now working as assistant in various orchestral and opera productions.  He is currently attending the advanced composition class held by Alessandro Sobiati at the Conservatory in Milan. He is also a pupil of Ivan Fedele at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and is following a Master's course in the composition classes held by Stefano Gervasoni at the Conservatoire Supérieure in Paris. He has been selected for the Cursus 1 at IRCAM in Paris which will start this September 2010.

His compositions have been performed in festivals and concert seasons such as: the Festival Internazionale di Musica Contemporanea Biennale di Venezia 2008; Rondò Divertimento EnsembleUnione Musicale TorinoMITO Settembre MusicaFondazione Spinola-Banna per l'Arte  (Quintetto Bibiena); Viagens pelo som e pela imagem - 2010 (Lisbon); Orchestra d'EreprijisFestival Musica Nuova (Orchestra Sinfonica Umberto Giordano)He was selected to take part in the Young Composers Meeting Forum 2009,chaired by Louis Andriessen and held in Amsterdam last February. In 2007 he won the Concorso di Composizione per Orchestra organised by the Milan Conservatory. He orchestrated the melodies taken from John Gay's Beggar's Opera for the production directed by Filippo Crivelli. He composed the music for an exhibition in collaboration with the Politecnico of the faculty of Architecture in Milan which led to the publication of a book and a CD entitled "Architetture Sonore". One of his works was chosen and performed at the Festival dedicated to Domenico Scarlatti. He wrote the music for the film "La terribile armata" (by Gherard Lamprecht) that was played by the Orchestra G. Verdi of the Auditorium di Milano. He received a diploma with merit and special mention in the Corso internazionale di alto perfezionamento in musica da films. He has followed composition master classes held by: Ivan Fedele, Azio Corghi, Luis De Pablo, Stefano Gervasoni, Luca Francesconi, Fredèric Durieux and Helmut Lachenmann. And conducting master classes held by Sandro Gorli, Jorma Panula, Gustav Kuhn and Maurizio Arena.

He made his debut as an orchestral conductor at the Ticino Music Festival where he conducted Rossini's opera "Il Signor Bruschino". He has conducted the following opera productions: La Bohème, Tosca, Trovatore, Elisir d'Amore, Madama Butterfly, La Traviata, Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro. He won the Rotary Club 2007 award for Orchestral Conducting. He has conducted the following Orchestras and Ensembles: the Bayerisches Symphonieorchester Munchen, Orchestra Sinfonica "I Pomeriggi Musicali",Philarmonic Orchestra di Kharkov, Divertimento Ensemble, Orchestra Sinfonica "Umberto Giordano" della Provincia di Foggia, Orchestra Sinfonica "G. Rossini" di PesaroOrchestra Sinfonica Cantelli, Orchestra Sinfonica U.E.C.O., Orchestra Opera da CameraOrchestra del Teatro Coccia di NovaraOrchestra Camerata dei LaghiOrchestra Sinfonica Amletoand the Nuova Cameristica di MilanoThis Summer 2010 he will conduct the Orchestra of the Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano in a series of concerts in various towns in Lombardy.Since December 2001 he has been the resident conductor and arranger of the Orchestra Sinfonica U. Giordano della Provincia di Foggia and since 2006 of the Orchestra RAI"Suoni del Sud", with whom he is currently on tour with the international pop star Amii Stewart. He has conducted and arranged music for numerous TV programmes all broadcast by the RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana) in collaboration with many national and international pop singers.
