This third volume completes the cycle of Masses by Giovanni Contino (the others being the Five Mantuan Masses and Missarum quator vocum. Liber primus). It was printed in Milan by Paolo Gottardo Ponzio in 1572 and was the last of Contino’s works to be published in his lifetime. It was never reprinted. It comprises five Masses: De Beata Virgine, Te Deum laudamus, Octaui Toni, Tertij Toni, Pro defunctis. The work is dedicated to “The Very Illustrious Lord Don Antonio Landonio President of the Ordinary Court for the People of Lombardy on Behalf of King Philip and His Counsellor”.
