Danilo Comitini was born in England in 1986. He lives and studies in Italy, graduating in piano at the Conservatory G. Rossini in Pesaro, where he later obtained a degree of 2nd level in piano. At the same time he studies composition in Pesaro with Lamberto Lugli and later specializes with top marks at the Conservatory G. Verdi in Milan with Alessandro Solbiati. He then began studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, in the class of Ivan Fedele, where he graduated with honors. After completing the course at the Academy in Rome, he attended the Master of II Level in composition held by teachers Klaus Lang, Marco Stroppa, George Benjamin, Alberto Posadas and Unsuk Chin at the Milan Conservatory of Music. His music has won important awards and has been honored by some of the most influential personalities on the compositional scene such as Michele Dall'Ongaro, Silvia Colasanti, Beat Furrer, Frédéric Durieux, Bruno Mantovani, Alessandro Solbiati, Daniele Zanettovich, and Claudio Ambrosini. The activity composition led him to win several international competitions including the International Competition '2 agosto' with the piece 'Resa al labirinto,' performed by the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and broadcast live on live television (Rai 5) and radio (Radio 3 Rai), conducted by Asher Fisch.

In the three-year period 2017-2020 he was composer in residence for Pesaro Ente Concerti, for which he written two pieces for orchestra and one chamber piece. In 2020 he was artist in residence within the season of Ensemble Musagète of Vicenza, which, at the Palazzo Leoni Montanari performed over the course of six concerts the cycle "Apparenti sembianze," consisting of as many six pieces. From 2021 to 2024 he is composer in residence for Orchestra Corelli of Ravenna.

His music, often broadcast by major radio stations, is performed in theaters and concert halls concert halls in Italian cities such as Milan, Rome, Florence, Modena, Como, Ravenna, Pesaro, Livorno, and Turin, and in relevant contexts in foreign countries such as Germany, Austria, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Argentina, Ukraine, California, Florida, Chile, and Spain. His latest works have been commissioned by organizations such as Ravenna Festival, Cantiere d'Arte Internazionale di Montepulciano, Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, Orchestra Sinfonica Rossini, Orchestra Corelli, Pesaro Ente Concerti.

Three monographic discs including solo and chamber music have been recorded between 2019 and 2023, for the Stradivarius (Milano Dischi) and Da Vinci Classics labels.

He teaches composition at the Monopoli Conservatory N. Rota.
