MARCO MOMI
Marco Momi (30) studied piano and chamber music with Antonio Ballista and composition with Fabio Cifariello Ciardi (Conservatoire of Perugia) and graduated both with highest honors (2001- 2006). He obtained a second degree avec mention in composition in 2006, under the guide of Ivan Fedele (Conservatoire of Strasbourg). In 2005 he studied at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, in 2007-2008 at IRCAM in Paris (with Yan Maresz) and in 2002 , 2006 and 2008 in Darmstadt. He is courrently in Master at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Ivan Fedele. From 1998 to 2004 he studied orchestral conducting with Ennio Nicotra.
Since he started to study composition in 2001, he won several scholarships and was shortlisted and prize-winner in: "VIIth Youth International Music Forum" (2001 Kiev), "What's Next- Nuova Consonanza" (2003 Rome), "Evangelisti Competition" (2004 Rome), "IIIrd Seoul International Competition" (2005 Seoul), "Lili Boulanger Memorial Fund" (2005 Boston), "Rodio European Competition" (2006 Bari), "STIPENDIENPREIS" (2006 Darmstadt), "Gaudeamus International Music Prize" (Honourable Mention, 2006 Amsterdam), "International Alkmaar Organcommission" (Alkmaar 2006),"Call-CEMAT 07" (2007 Rome), "IRCAM Reading Panel 2007" (Paris); in 2007 and 2008 he has been candidated to compete for the "Prix de Composition Musicale Prince Pierre de Monaco" (Nice), in 2008 he won the Kranichsteiner Music Prise in Darmstadt and in 2009 ), "IRCAM Reading Panel 2009" (Paris).
His music has been performed in several Festivals such as Gaudeamus International Music Week (2005- 2006- 2007 Amsterdam), AudioArt Circus (2008 Osaka), Nuova Consonanza (2003- 2004 Rome), 14th World Saxophone Congress (Ljubljana), Internationalen Ferienkursen für Neue Musik (2006-2008 Darmstadt), Musica (2005 - 2008 Strasbourg), IRCAM (2008 Paris), Music Today 2005 (Seoul) by Nieuw Ensemble, Duo Disecheis, Ensemble Cronophonie, ASKO Ensemble, Kiev Ensemble, Algoritmo Ensemble, Strasbourg Saxophone Quartet and others. His works are published by Nuova Stradivarius (Milan) and from 2009 by Suvini Zerboni (Milan); broadcasted by Rai-Radio3, VPRO, SWR and recorded by Max Research and Auditorium labels.
He hold lectures in Conservatoires and Universities in Europe and Asia and he teaches "Harmony and Methodology of the analysis" at the Conservatoire of Brescia.
